February Running

It is February. The days are getting longer and here in Victoria we have the feeling that the worst of winter is behind us. Now is the time a lot of us start to shake off the winter blahs and finally start to put some of those New Year’s resolutions into action.
Here at Olympic Physiotherapy several staff members will be participating in the Times Colonist 10 km. This annual event attracts people of all ages and all fitness levels. You have elite athletes from as far away as Africa competing in the same race as seniors walking 10 km for the first time. There will be people cheering, bands playing, and fantastic scenery. All this and they give you a t-shirt you can wear with pride over the rest of the year. What more can you ask for? I encourage everyone to participate at some level even if it is just coming out to cheer on the runners. Chances are you will get inspired for next year.
We will profile our clinic runners in this blog. They are from different age groups and have different goals, fitness levels, and time to commit to a running program. Perhaps you will identify with one of the runners and get some inspiration to run the race yourself.
In the meantime here is a clip Suzy, one of our admin people found. It is “illustrative” and informs you just how important a little daily exercise is to your overall health. We hope you enjoy it.
